A tough August sinking the Pittsburgh pirates
Could the Pittsburgh Pirates get the No. 1 overall pick two years in a row?
This question has generated some interest over the past week as Pittsburgh Pirates fans. Many are starting to wonder if the team could end up with the worst record. This is especially true after a difficult August.
The only thing we know: the future is very bright! The trio opens this week’s episode with a conversation about the number one pick in this year’s draft, Henri davis. After a quick promotion to High-A Greensboro, Davis made an instant impact with his second professional home run. Will he be the receiver of the future or will he find another role to open this place to another talented youngster?
Pittsburgh’s favorite Steven brault made his comeback with the Pirates, and in three starts has only impressed. The team discuss their scoreless performance in Los Angeles and what they expect from Brault this offseason. As the Pirates continue this rebuild, Singing Steven could be a solid business chip in December or the months surrounding it.
John Nogowski, aka “The Big Nogowski”, has become a hero to Pirates fans over the past few months, but overall we knew his time with the big club would be limited. After the antics of Twitter, the stellar performances and the frustrations of Marcus Stroman, the Pirates had to nominate John for the assignment in order to provide list space for a new signer, Yoshi Sutsugo.
Sutsugo, now with his third team of the season, will provide depth in both the infield and the outfield and immediately take on that super-utility role.
To close the show, the guys talk about last week’s Field of Dreams game and where Major League Baseball is going with these kinds of events.
