Memphis Athletics Takes New Flagship Radio in All New News Talk 98.9 “THE ROAR OF MEMPHIS”
MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Memphis Athletics and its multimedia rights holder Tiger Sports Properties today announced that Cumulus-owned WKIM-FM News Talk 98.9 “THE ROAR OF MEMPHIS” will be the Tigers’ new radio home for the next five years.
Starting in August, fans can listen to THE ROAR OF MEMPHIS to hear all football, men’s basketball and women’s basketball games. The new flagship deal with the 100,000-watt station also includes weekly one-hour men’s football and basketball coaches broadcasts with Ryan silverfield and Penny hardaway, respectively.

The multi-year agreement with Cumulus was overseen by Learfield College IMG and his local team at Tiger Sports Properties as part of the university’s overall athletics rights relationship.
