OSWEGO – The eighth annual Oswego County 4-H Cloth Sale fundraiser in support of the Oswego County 4-H program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at the Oswego County Fairgrounds Entertainment Building located at 291 Ellisburg Street, Sandy Creek.
The Oswego County 4-H program is accepting donations through July 1 of fabric and other sewing items for sale. The following items are examples of what 4-H of Oswego County will accept: gardening items (sewing, home decor, felt, burlap, needlecraft fabrics, vintage fabrics, quilt , solids, craft panels, seasonal, pillows, wall hangings), haberdashery, sewing tools, patterns (must be complete), books, booklets, skeins of yarn, crochet cotton, knitting supplies and needles, hooks , quilt frames, hoops, cutting mats, rotary cutters, rulers and batting. The pieces of fabric should be a quarter fat or larger.
Everything will be at sale price, with plenty of bargains to be found. All fabrics will be sold by the piece at only $2 per yard. Pieces will be sold as is and will not be cut into smaller lengths. Credit and debit cards will not be accepted. Proceeds from the sale benefit the local 4-H program.
The Oswego County 4-H program is open to all youth ages 5-19 who want to learn new skills and explore the world. Young people who participate in 4-H find a supportive environment and many opportunities for hands-on or experiential learning on topics that interest them. The mission of Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program is to unleash the power of youth and adults through a variety of opportunities that meet community needs. 4-H programs are offered in a wide variety of formats and locations, as they are designed to meet the interests and needs of the diverse youth who live in rural and urban communities in Oswego County.
